I moved to Yangyang, Gangwondo a week ago for clean air, beautiful nature and kind, sweet, supportive people(community) around me.
Gangwondo is a province of South Korea and it’s like Korea’s rocky mountain area…especially so many pine trees here.
Just couple days ago, there was huge fire burned down huge mountain areas due to dry climate and stormy windy situation.
That day it was so windy!
Luckily my area called Yangyang was safe as the fire spread out the other mojor cities of Gangwon province not this area.
My area is famous for warmer climate in the winter time than other nearby areas in Gangwondo.
It has lake, ocean and mountain-Seorak mountain and other famous mountain. Lots of temples and beaches…also surfing spots are right near my area.
Surfing and scuba diving spots are nearby as well as hiking to the mountains.
So far, after moving and settling in a little bit, I went out to check some dating courses or spots for Korean Girl Friend Experience I could offer. 🙂
I love nature and nice cafe. So here are my date ideas.
From my homestay house back garden(private pine forest), we can walk to nice lake called Hyangho. It’s Gangneung. It took me like 1 hour and half or 2 hours as I just discovered myself after hearing how to get there from my homestay lady’s neighbor. He explained roughly so I just went the next day on my own.
🙂
It’s supposed to be taking less than an hour or 30-40 min.
But I went through pine tree mountain up and down…discovering dead end and return back to road etc. Haha
It was beautiful, nice walk. Maybe a little long at the end. Haha
Cherry blossom wasn’t all in full bloom yet. So it will be nice this coming week or next week to enjoy beautiful cherry blossom in a clear air country side by the sea and mountain. 😉
BTW, I am traveling out of town on the 13th and 14th.
Then I will attend conference on 16th-17th so I will be in Seoul from 15th till 17th of April for sure.
Another date idea is walking along the quiet beach near my place and go to Whale cafe and observatory in Jukdo which is surfing beach spot area. I haven’t been to that observatory but I heard it’s beautiful and best spot for overlooking the ocean than other well-known observatory spots most of tourists go.
If you are brave, we could swim! 🙂 Cold shock is great for boosting immune system and vagus nerve. 🙂
Exposing your body to acute cold conditions, such as taking a cold shower or splashing cold water on your face, increases stimulation of the vagus nerve. While your body adjusts to the cold, sympathetic activity declines, while parasympathetic activity increases. Deep breathing.

I know a cafe we could take a shower or we can at least wipe with dry towel and come home to shower?! I would love to do this! If you are game!

On other beaches, we are not allowed to swim due to safety reasons for strong tide etc.
Photos are taken from my walk along the quiet beach almost by myself and also my visit to Whale cafe on previous day.
Whale cafe owners are professional divers and they teach scuba diving in the building and facility there as well as real diving after learning BTW.
It was also LONG walk. 🙂
We can cut our walk if you don’t like walking the whole continuous beaches along Yangyang like me to discover stuff.
Also if you like spring mineral water and preparing fire wood…stuff…you are welcome to come with me to get water and pick up pine cones. Haha
FEEL free to let me know. I love doing that stuff. Feels quite primal???
Haha. Gathering and hunting(not really hunting but for natural survival…preparing stuff and getting clean water source better than tap water!)
What do you think? 🙂
Also my homestay lady is willing to stay with her mom if you visit and stay at my place here.
But I am not sure…my bed is not the most comfortable one as it’s handmade…cypress wood frame one with some thick blankets I layered down.
Might be best to get a hotel or pension. 🙂
Or airbnbing!
I would rather go to somewhere out of this town. 🙂 For privacy reason.
Also I could moan and scream if you are a great lover who knows what you are doing. Haha
😉
More dating ideas and update to come as I discover and explore! 🙂
P.S. I found there is a penis park!!! 1 hour drive from where I live! Haha
Would you be up for driving up there and checking out???
